Description
Presented to Reginald A James, in May 1880 by appointment from the Royal Family this historical officers sword is made by one of the best manufacturers of blade makers ‘Henry Wilkinson Paul Mall, London’. An exceptionally well made sword made with nothing but the best qualities any sword manufacturer has to offer. This remarkable sword screams out history especially during a time when the industrial revolution was at a stage of absolute perfection. These swords were used during the ceremonial stages of men reaching a higher ranks in their careers as soldiers. The long scabbard is wrapped in leather with the end tip being silver plated. This may have been added later.
The sword has signs of significant age with beautiful patina. The scabbard being leather also shows signs of wear with minor scratches and grazes however all this is expected for such an old piece of historical weaponry.
